5 Things to do in Rexburg this 4th of July during the Pandemic

June 24, 2020

This year is strange and not normal with the pandemic going on. A lot of our typical 4th of July activities have been canceled due to COVID-19, but that doesn't mean it can't be a fun day celebrating our freedom! Here are some ideas on how to celebrate the 4th of July safely this year!

1. Have a BBQ - Invite a small group of friends over to the Landing to grill up some hot dogs and hamburgers. We have a very large grill that is perfect for any event! Or use one of our local parks grills to cook up your feast! Either way, you need some good ol' American food this holiday!

2. Go on a Hike - What a great day to experience nature and the beauty of this country! Rexburg has some beautiful hikes great for beginners and experts. Go get some clarity in the mountains!

3. Float the River - Rexburg has some beautiful places to float the river. So grab your sunscreen, a few friends, and a cheap tube from Walmart and float the river! You won't regret it!

4. Watch Fireworks - Even though the big firework show in Idaho Falls is canceled this year, Rexburg is still planning on having fireworks! They will be setting up 3 spots where the fireworks will go off simultaneously to prevent large crowds. So drive around town and find the best spot to view them!

5. 4th of July Bake Off - Hold your own 4th of July bake-off! See who can make the most delicious and patriotic treat as possible! There are so many options on Pinterest to choose from. Grab your red, white, and blue food coloring and get cooking!
